2 Years!

I cannot believe this little guy is 2 years old.  I used to hear moms saying things like "they grow up so fast" etc.  But I find myself getting sad, when I think that one day this little guy MIGHT move out...of course he is welcome to live with Mommy for the rest of his life as far as I'm concerned:)  ( I know, I know...I won't be singing the same tune when he's a teenager:)

Clif and I were talking and we both think that Cameron is at such a fun age!  He cracks me up constantly.  He will repeat anything you say and he is also becoming a little bit easier to reason with.  For instance, consider this conversation while we were driving in the car.
Cameron:  "Mommy, cat?" ( wanting to see the cat app on my iphone)
Me: "How about we look at the cat when we get to the house?"
Cameron: "OK!!" (smiling from ear to ear in the backseat)
....2 seconds later
Cameron: "Mommy, cat?"
Me: "When we get to the house OK?"
Cameron: "House!! OK!!"

It was that easy!! Of course, most things are not this easy...like nap time, or not being able to play with his trains...but I love that he is beginning to understand a FEW things..

Happy happy birthday little wild man!!

It's Fall!

I love fall! It is probably my favorite season!  The ridiculously hot weather eases, pumpkin flavors abound and football is everywhere.  I was browsing around pinterest for fall ideas and came across this luminary idea..
So...I decided to give it a try...here is the finished product on my mantle

I think it turned out great!  However, I thought this would be a super easy project.  Hot glue did not work against the glass so I went to Hobby Lobby and bought glass adhesive which worked much better.

I'm loving my fall-ish mantle!

Children's Museum!

Well in keeping with the theme of what I post about most, here's another post about the Monkey!  We went to the Children's Museum on Wednesday with 2 of my friends and their boys.  They have a toddler area and Cameron had a blast!  He was not ready to leave to say the least...
Very interested in the Dinos..

Something about this blue truck; he was practically shoving other kids out of it so he could climb in!

Lite Brite!

One of the pictures of him actually looking at the camera...though not a great one

"Mom, please stop asking me to look at the camera...I'm busy breaking up this tea party with my truck":)
He had such a great time, and we are ready to go again.  It is a bit far from home so we have to make a morning of it.  We're just winding down the summer here, I'm ready for a bit cooler weather and some rain.  I'm  ready to watch it rain while it is cool outside and drink a big mug of coffee...mmm.....

Surprise!

Yesterday, Cameron was at his Mimi and Pappy's while I was working.  She got out some paint to watercolor with and Cameron pointed at the blue color and said "bue!" (blue), and then "geen!" and "onge!"(orange), "back!" (black) and "ye-ow" (yellow).  We were shocked!  We have never heard him say any of his colors.  Then on the way to the restaurant last night Cameron pointed up and said, "sky, bue!"  What?!?!
I guess this kid is listening to us.  This made me curious, so last night we read Brown Bear Brown Bear.  We read this book a lot, so I figured I was going to test him on the last page where all of the characters are on the page.  I asked him where each character was (bird, duck, horse, teacher etc.) all in different orders and he pointed to the correct one each time!! Wow!!
I know it is simple, but I was so impressed!!  Way to go buddy!:)

What's going on here...

Summer!  That's what's going on!  It is already ridiculously hot here in Houston; even Cameron goes outside and says "hot"!  If we're outside, we try to be in water.  Period.

My garden is in full swing.  I lost my 2 zucchini vines about a month ago.  I have no idea what happened.  I just came home one day and they were all wilted and dead:(  I probably got about 30 zucchini from them before they died so I guess they did produce something.

My peppers aren't doing so great, I've gotten a few, but the flowers are just falling off.  Who knows??

What IS doing great is my tomatoes, basil and eggplant.  We have had roasted tomatoes several times with several different dishes and they are a big, big hit.  Pasta, salads, pizza, etc.  The possibilities are endless.  Cameron likes them as well.  I've been using the basil to make pesto...I LOVE PESTO! yipee!

A couple of my zucchini the day before the vine died
May was full of travels for us.  We went several places and it is nice to just be home in June.  We went to Longview to visit my brother Eric and his wife Jean and their son Wes.  We had a great weekend.
Cameron was intrigued by all the new fun toys!

"See Wes, you put it in your mouth like this"

Beautiful eyes!

Running around the front yard

Enjoying playing with the splash table!

This is how I found him napping the other day:)

Hope everyone is doing well!  Have a great 4th of July weekend:)

19 Months

As I'm using my blog to go back in and fill in C's book, I wanted to make a post about his words at this point.
Mommy, Daddy, happy, night night, ball, gogi ( Yogi), bite, bike, truck, bath, go, dog, duck, quack quack, moo, thank you, nana (banana), dino, baa (but he hasn't said sheep yet), gaga (train...have no idea why he calls a train gaga), no, garden, car
I know he says more than that but that's all thats coming to mind:)  This will probably be his last "words" post as he says almost anything I ask him to.

The other day, I was changing what I thought was just a wet diaper.  I wasn't prepared for the load that was there and I said "Aye-ya-yay" to which he replied "Aye-ya-yay"! :)

A Bit 'O Easter Fun!

We had an egg hunt at church this year about a week before Easter.  Cameron was having a great time picking up the eggs and shaking them.  It was when all the other kids came in to pick them up as well that he decided that was all he wanted of that...

Oh and of course, he hated the Easter Bunny...no surprise there..
The weekend of Easter, we traveled out to Concan/Leakey to hang out with Grammy, PawPaw and Grandma Vogler...I didn't get too many pictures but we hunted eggs again!

Hope everyone had a great Easter as well:)

Spring time!

Lots of things are growing around here.  My Grandma Vogler gave me one of her huge amaryllis bulbs last fall and I stuck it in one of the flower beds  and forgot about it.  That is, until this little shoot came out of the ground a few weeks ago then turned into this...
And then the next day, this..

There were 4 big beautiful flowers that formed and I got lots of compliments on my 1 amaryllis plant:)

Here are my two guys on the way to church a couple of weeks ago...can you tell that all Cameron wants is "down!"

Almost 18 months!

Cameron and I went to the park this morning.  We have a nice camera that we received as a gift.  Since then we have gotten a couple of additional lenses so really...we SHOULD be able to take just about any picture we want.  I haven't bitten the bullet and bought Photoshop yet because it's so expensive, but I have another editing software program.

Anyway, these are a couple of the pictures we got this morning.  He was in a terrible mood, so even though I didn't get any of him smiling really big, at least these aren't of him screaming!!

If I get around to it, I'll post the rest of them during his nap time.

GO!!!

Go and Bye-Bye are Cameron's favorite words right now.  He will grab your face, turn it towards him, make sure he has eye contact and say " GO!"  It's funny but kind of repetitive at the same time.  So, regardless of my plans, we usually "go" somewhere everyday...

He also has figured out that he usually gets to ride in his stroller when we "go".  If I leave the stroller out (which I usually do) he has started climbing up in the stroller and pulling the bar over him and yelling "go".   See pictures below...

He is also kind of a ham:)

Words...

I wanted to make a quick post of all the words that Cameron has at 16 months...
mama, dada, hi!! ( his  MOST enthusiastic word) bye bye, go, ga ( dog), ball, truck ( prounounced cuck) nana (banana), apple, up, pawpaw, night night, duck, quack quack.

I think there are a few more but these are his most frequent....:)

It's been a little while...

It has been a while since I posted.  However, I have tried to post 2 or 3 times and my pictures have posted all funky and it just made me mad so I didn't post...

Here's another re-try...It still won't let me post vertical pictures correctly...any ideas anyone?  It just posts them sideways..

Grammy and PawPaw came to visit this past weekend.  We had lots of fun and Cameron sure loves his Grammy.  Just because we live in the suburbs now doesn't mean we can't have a garden!  This is what we worked on this weekend and Cameron had a great time in the wheelbarrow and playing with the gloves.  A few pics of the weekend:)
